Terrific site. Just wondering if there is any way of getting the year-end Billboard charts. For instance, the Hot 100 for 2005? 2006? Thanks.

The official not, but we do publish a Year end (as well as year to date, and current year) chart based on charts position instead of actual sales figures.

Thank you for the quick response. Your calculation, based on the available data, looks like a very thorough and complete piece of work. I can see that it's not the same as the official Hot 100 year-end lists. I've got those for 2004 and earlier. iTunes publishes them on its music download site (most of each list; I think there are licensing issues that keep it from having all 100 songs per list). I was just hoping to find the official Hot 100 lists for '05 and '06 because that's what I started my darned research project with. I didn't realize when I started a year ago that iTunes wasn't planning on updating the Hot 100 beyond '04. I suppose I could find the official lists in the archives of the magazine itself (Billboard), say, at a library. Do you think? No one seems to have them on the Web.
